Solar energy comes from using the sun as a source of fuel to create heat or electricity. Solar energy is considered environmentally friendly because the sun is a natural energy source that does not require the burning of fossil fuels and the associated air emissions. In addition, it is considered renewable because the energy produced from the sun does not deplete any natural resources, and will never run out.
Solar technologies fall into two categories: passive and active. Passive solar produces heat and provides lighting for structures. Active solar produces electricity using a technology called Solar Photovoltaic (PV).
Solar PV is the most common application and is generally the one with which most people are familiar. PV is one of the most environmentally friendly technologies available and is very easy to install on a building or property.
PV technology uses the electrical properties of materials known as semiconductors to produce electricity. When hit by sunlight, a semiconductor material creates an electrical charge which can then be transferred through a circuit to anything that uses electricity.
In a PV system, these semiconductors are produced in the form of cells, which are then assembled in a structural panel. Panels can then be assembled into larger groups, or arrays, to produce increasing amounts of electricity, depending on the amount of energy needed. Solar arrays can vary in size to provide the electricity needed for a home, office, or larger facility.
By generating their own clean solar power energy, homeowners offset electricity that would otherwise have been generated using traditional means. This allows homeowners who have a solar panel installation to substantially reduce their energy costs and to make a positive impact on the environment every single day.
We will explain how Enver Solar can help you save money and
use less energy.
We had several solar companies give us a proposal for solar on our home but none of them were as informative as Jon! We felt so comfortable with him and his professionalism there was no question who to go with.- Robert and Julie Harrison
Ron was helpful every step of the way. We were skeptical at first but he made us feel comfortable with his soft spoken way! We are not only excited about saving money with our new system (we got a new furnace and ductwork to go with our solar panels) but we made a friend.- Greg and Sheri Goodman
Wife and I were really taken by surprise when we saw how much we would save on our electric bill by going solar. The whole house fan was a great addition to the system!- Mike and Susan McClintock
